Tour The Community Pool Complex
Members viewed the pump room building for the Olympic, intermediate and baby pool. Brad Sharp explained the various pumps, filters, chlorinators and support apparatus. Brad showed the Board the replacement valves from the vandalism last Fall, and the proposed location of the new chlorinators required for the conversion from gas to liquid chlorine sanitizing. Brad stated that although gas chlorine is the most efficient and economical, LMT is having difficulty getting it
delivered due to the fact pools do not use gas chlorine any longer. It
was very difficult in 2001 obtaining delivery.
The Board walked the area of the baby pool, noting this pool was recommended for renovation by Wallover Architects in the baseline feasilibility study.
The Board proceeded to the intermediate pool area and viewed the existing walkways and gutter system on those pools. The Board moved to the back lap pool and buildings, inspecting all areas.

The Park Board noted the need for additional storage space for the pool furniture. The Board then moved to the concession stand and noted the lack of room in that building. Brad Sharp advised of the extremely hot temperatures in that room. There was some discussion
on how to address the space issue, whether you could expand out or
upwards. Brad stated some time ago there was an air conditioning unit installed in the Snack Bar but it could not cool the area and was removed.
Patricia Martin moved, Andrew Newbon seconded, and the Board
unanimously agreed to approve the minutes of the April 9, 2002
Park Board meeting.
Dave Fritchey then explained the Board of Supervisors would like the Park Board to recommend renaming North Park to Memorial Park.
Ron Smith so motioned, Andrew Newbon seconded, and the Board
unanimously agreed to recommend the Board of Supervisors rename
North Park to Memorial Park.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:40PM.
Respectfully submitted,
J. Kuebler, Secretary
