Comcast is currently improving some of the existing networks and equipment throughout Lower Makefield Township. These improvements will support faster speeds, greater internet capacity, and the continuing enhancement of the services for Lower Makefield businesses and residents. As part of that work, they will be installing new fiber in the Township.
While this plan involves digging and will result in brief periods of downtime as service is transitioned, Comcast will be working with the Township to assist anyone who is affected to inform them of service windows and minimize any negative impacts. If you are an XFINITY customer, you may experience some service interruptions, such as temporary loss of your XFINITY Voice service, including the ability to make or receive emergency 911 calls. Comcast will be doing their best to keep interruptions to a minimum, but if your service is out for an extended period of time, please call Comcast at 1-800-XFINITY.
Comcast’s crews will be working in the utility easements and the rights-of-ways along the roads. You may see the local power company and other utilities marking the areas where their lines are installed. These markings are to help the crews avoid damaging utility lines when digging so it is important to not disturb the markings. The crews will be focused on installing new lines mostly between curbs and sidewalks and along roadways. Once the lines are installed, restoration of the disturbed areas will follow.
