Waters of the Delaware River have been rising steadily due to increasing snow melt the past few days. Lower Makefield Police would like all residents in the area to use caution when traveling River Road.
River & Ferry Rds. May be closed tonight around 5:00PM until further notice.
Typically, when the river rises to 19 feet, we experience water on the roadway on Ferry Rd. The Police Department has been in contact with NBC10 and other news stations to keep residents abreast of any changing conditions.
The Police Department has also been in contact with the Public Works Department to ensure crews are ready to salt areas of River Rd. that may be slippery of difficult to travel.
All residents are asked to use caution and avoid the area when possible.
From,
Chief of Police Kenneth Coluzzi
Lower Makefield Emergency Manager
