Mr. Rogers moved, Ms. Dorko seconded and it was unanimously carried to approve the March 2007 minutes with changes.

Meeting with Chief Coluzzi

Ms. Huchler-Smith noted the meeting with Chief Coluzzi last month was very informative and productive. Chief Coluzzi stated he collected over 100 emergency cards and he will have his department input the information into their database. Ms. Huchler-Smith asked if it would be a good idea to ask the emergency squad to send out the emergency forms again in six months.

Ms. Huchler-Smith stated sensitivity training for the Police Officers was discussed at the last meeting and asked if any training sessions have been setup yet. Mr. Rogers stated that BCCID has a basic sensitivity training program. Ms. Huchler-Smith asked if we could ask BCCID to work with the Lower Makefield Police Department. Mr. Rogers stated he would approach Chief Coluzzi to make plans for a training session.

Ms. Huchler-Smith suggested writing a piece for the Township newsletter about parking in the

fire lane and blocking the curb cuts. Mr. Rogers and Ms. Huchler-Smith discussed painting cross-hatched lines to clearly mark the fire lane. Ms. Huchler-Smith suggested the newsletter article mention that the Police Department has a form for people with disabilities to fill out and the public should call the Police Department to fill out a form.

Fabric Panels

Ms. Huchler-Smith stated she visited the Friends Home associated with the Friends Village which has the fabric panels in their meeting room. While visiting, she asked the woman in charge her opinion of the panels and how well they worked and was apathetic about the panels. Ms. Huchler-Smith stated she would visit Friends Village to see the panels for herself and would call the company for references.

Building Permits

The Board discussed talking with the Edgewood Village developer, Cam Troilo to discuss integrating ADA standards into the development.

Ms. Huchler-Smith asked if anything is happening with Matrix and Mr. Rogers stated nothing right now.

Tax Office Changes

Ms. Huchler-Smith stated she drafted a letter to Mr. Fedorchak requesting improvements to the Tax Office such as additional external lighting, smooth surface on the walkway, installation of an automatic exterior door and appropriate changes to the interior door to comply with ADA regulations to eliminate the door.

Meeting with the Southeastern Bucks League of Municipalities

Ms. Huchler-Smith stated that very few townships attended the meeting other than Upper Makefield, Lower Makefield, Newtown Township, Yardley Borough, and Falls Township. She stated that Elizabeth from the CIL attended the meeting and was very knowledgeable as well as Scott Mitchell from BCCID who was very informative. Ms. Huchler-Smith suggested reaching out to the individual townships to encourage them to create Disabled Persons Advisory Boards.

Spring Fling

Ms. Huchler-Smith reported that there would be accessible bathrooms at the event. She stated that Community Day has not been planned yet and would follow-up as information becomes available.

The date of the next meeting will be Tuesday, May 22nd at 7:30 p.m.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted,

Megan Dorko, Secretary
