OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Rogers noted the
Disabled Persons Advisory Board monthly meetings are not being advertised on
the Township Channel 16. Mr. Rogers
stated the he would e-mail Mr. Fedorchak and Ms. States prior to each meeting
as a reminder.
Mr. Rogers stated he
sent an e-mail and memorandum to Mr. Fedorchak regarding the requests he made
on behalf of the Disabled Board for Bexley Orchards, McCaffrey’s and the

looked at publications that could be used to discuss accessibility with local
businesses. He said he could order the
ADA Guide for small Businesses. Ms. Piccinotti
suggested the Board start with a two page informational piece with reference to
the Disabled Board’s website for people to contact rather than sending out
pamphlets.
Mr. Rogers said he
talked with Ms. Frick about Makefield Quarters and the difficult accessibility
issues. Ms. Frick said the Township does
not own the roads at Makefield Quarters and the roads are not dedicated.
Mr. Rogers asked the
Board if anyone knew if there was any commercial construction going on in the
Township, noting that he sees contractors all over Makefield Quarters. Ms. Frick noted to him that there is no
construction presently underway in Makefield Quarters. Mr. Rogers asked if
Disabled Persons Advisory Council –

going in the back door of a doctor’s office constitutes
“reasonable accommodation?” The Board
replied yes.
Ms. Huchler-Smith stated
she would draft a cover letter to local businesses with information about
proper accessibility. Mr. Rogers said he
would try to get additional copies of the ADA Guide to distribute to the local
businesses.
Ms. Huchler-Smith
suggested talking with Mr. Fedorchak again about sending Ms. Frick or any other
staff member that reviews plans to a training session about
Ms.
Huchler-Smith moved, Mr. McConville seconded and it was unanimously carried to
approve the October 2004 meeting minutes as written.
