Mr. Fegley
suggested that the Council’s first objective should be to look at the blueprints
for the Clubhouse at Makefield Highlands Golf Course. Mr. Fegley stated the Clubhouse is presently
in the early stages of construction and the Council should look at the
blueprints to make sure it is ADA compliant.
Mr. Fegley stated he would request a copy of the blueprints to be sent
to Mr. McConville to review since he is familiar with reading blueprints. The Council agreed they would review the
blueprints and contact the Golf Committee to discuss. Mr. McConville stated that he would go to the
construction site and look at the Clubhouse as it is constructed.
The Council
discussed how they should get started and what they should focus on. Ms. Huchler-Smith suggested creating or using
a web-site for the Council to link people with questions to the ADA web-site as
well as a place for people to voice concerns and complaints. The Council discussed integrating ADA
requirements into Zoning & Planning code.
Mr. Fegley said the Lower Makefield Township building inspector enforces
ADA requirements.
The Council
agreed they should find out the percentage of disabled persons in Lower
Makefield Township.
The Council
agreed they would try to get a person from the ADA and Mr. Schamberg to speak
at their next meeting to educate the Council.
The Committee
scheduled the next meeting for Tuesday, March 23rd at 7:30 p.m.
The meeting was
adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
