Lynn has been a dedicated member of Lower Makefield Township since 2013, contributing significantly to the advancement of Parks and Recreation operations. She played a pivotal role in enhancing membership and registration processes by implementing Community Pass, the department’s management software.
Lynn’s career has grown from Pool Membership Coordinator to her current role overseeing Parks and Recreation Operations. She ensures departmental efficiency by managing inspections, licenses, work orders, inventory, and facility maintenance, including equipment procurement. Lynn also coordinates and tracks all staff training and certification programs, demonstrating her commitment to professional development.
Her dedication to excellence extends to reviewing policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the Department’s CAPRA accreditation standards. Lynn’s efforts have greatly enhanced the department’s operational effectiveness and service delivery, making her an invaluable asset to the team.

Robert Vandegrift joined the Lower Makefield Township Parks and Recreation team as Program Manager in 2024, bringing enthusiasm and a commitment to community engagement. With four years of experience at Whitemarsh Township, Robert has developed into a versatile parks and recreation professional.
During his time at Whitemarsh, he successfully managed a DHS-licensed summer camp, coordinated youth programs such as STEM and art classes, organized group fitness sessions, and led numerous special events.
As a proud Lower Makefield local, Robert is excited to contribute to community projects and support his neighbors. With many exciting developments ahead, he is eager to make a meaningful and lasting impact.

Kathy Howell

Kathy began her journey with Lower Makefield Township as a seasonal Registration Coordinator in March 2021, assisting with pool membership registrations for the 2021 season. In August of the same year, she transitioned to a full-time role as Membership Coordinator in the Parks and Recreation Department.
Kathy oversees all aspects of membership, including class, program, and summer camp registrations, as well as scheduling orientation and training sessions. Beyond her membership and registration duties, she has taken on the role of lead event planner for Veterans Day and Community Day, showcasing her organizational skills and dedication to community engagement.

“Stan the Can”
Stan the Can recently retired after 40 years of service at Lower Makefield Township. His retirement was announced in 2023 as part of Pathway to Zero Waste Plan. In his retirement he enjoys using his wit to educate the public about Environmental Sustainability, he is an active member of the Lower Makefield Township Environmental Advisory Board and is often outspoken.
In his spare time, he enjoys long walks in the park, visiting with family and traveling parks throughout the nation. He has a dream of visiting every National Park.
