Lower Makefield Township has advertised a new Ordinance to be considered for enactment at the January 17, 2024, Board of Supervisors meeting. An Ordinance of the Township of Lower Makefield, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, regulating the use and display of fireworks within Lower Makefield Township, repealing all inconsistent Ordinances or any part thereof; providing a severability clause; and providing an effective date.

Proposed Vacant and/or Foreclosed Property Ordinance
Lower Makefield Township has advertised an amended Ordinance to be considered for enactment at the March 20, 2024, Board of Supervisors meeting. An Ordinance of the Township of Lower Makefield, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, repeals Chapter 152, Article II, Registration of Vacant Properties and replaces the repealed Chapter with a new Chapter entitled Registration of Foreclosure Mortgages and Vacant Property which the Township believes more fully addresses the negative impact and conditions that occur as a result of vacancy, absentee owner ship and lack of compliance with existing Township regulations and laws and is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the residents.

Auditor RFP for 2024
Lower Makefield Township, Bucks County, is soliciting proposals from firms to serve as the Township’s Appointed Auditor. The Township is a full-service Township of the Second Class consisting of a resident population of approximately 33,000 residents governed by a 5-member Board of Supervisors. Daily operations are directed and overseen by an appointed professional manager. The Township has 85 full-time employees and approximately 150 part-time/seasonal employees. Operations are organized across the following departments: Administration, Finance, Community Development, Police, Fire, Public Works, and Parks and Recreation. Additionally, the Township operates a seasonal Pool and Golf Course. The Golf Course is managed by a third-party management company. The Township’s annual General Fund budget is approximately $16 million ($35 million all funds). Responses must be submitted not later than Monday, February 19, 2024 at 4:00pm.
